Diet and Mood

I found an interesting blog post on Discovery’s website:

It describes the impact that dietary choices can have on mood, specifically sugar and caffiene. I was most interested in this article because of the reference to hormonal imbalance. It all makes sense. I just wish I could figure out what the root cause of mine is. My guess is that it has to do with stress, but I also think diet played a huge role.

As a fitness fanatic, I followed a heavy meat diet (5x a day) with relatively few carbs. I ate some veggies but definitely not enough and I almost never ate pasta, rice or beans. Any strict diet has to be hard on the body. I plan to research this heavily to find out if the high protein or low carbs (or the combination of the two) affected my hormones and if so, how.
